• Apple Tax+. Apple recently made updates to their app store policy that has activated goblin mode in the web3 gaming and builder communities. TLDR, the policy update bans apps from offering exclusive access to NFT owners, or from linking their users to third-party sites where they might buy or sell outside of Apple (where the user could dodge the “Apple Tax” that is 30% of all profits). The policy also doesn’t permit the sale of “utility” NFTs. 🙄 The limitations will likely be a non starter for blockchain-based games that use NFTs. Sounds like Apple is just here for the cash grab. Wen decentralized app store/phone?

• Chief Twit. This week Twitter announced live testing for a new NFT display feature called NFT Tweet Tiles, but this news pales in comparison to the REAL news that you probably haven’t heard. I’m talking real under the radar stuff. Elon Musk (this guy) officially acquired Twitter this week. Our friend CZ, prez of Binance, provided a generous 500 million towards the acquisition, with the hope that this investment will bridge crypto and social media. The take train is chugging along.The new “Chef Twit” celebrated his first day in the office this week. As he was carrying a sink into a lobby, his beloved $DOGE soared 150%. The meme accounts are going wild, though it’s not clear what Musk’s intentions are for any integrations. He also started his tenure with some odd asks of the engineering team. Whether you like it or not, The Musk Era has begun.
