Story Protocol. One of the founders of Layer-1 blockchain Story Protocol, abruptly resigned this week in an X post that’s now been viewed over 5M times (which to me, is the craziest part of this whole thing).
i’m going to need @BoysClubWorld to

Story is positioned as the ‘blockchain for IP’ and raised over $130M from top VCs, however its usage is still thin, booking only $23 in fees over the past 24 hrs. The timeline rushed in to point out that the resignation seems conveniently timed, hitting right after a supposed vesting cliff. Others suggest the rush and lack of details seem to indicate he was “low key pushed out” or is possibly starting a new thing in the ecosystem, who’s to say. You decide for yourself! No comment from the official account, which to me seems like a missed opportunity to tell…a story.
Cowboy Stablecoins. The great state of Wyoming has become the first to issue a USD-backed stablecoin, the Frontier Stable Token, featuring a very yee-haw logo (complimentary). Wyoming is known for pushing digital asset innovations, being the first to recognize DAOs as LLCs, and that very much seems like the play here as well. I spent a lot of time yesterday wondering why, exactly, a state would need to issue a stablecoin and what, exactly, would be the novel use of said coin. But I’m going to set that aside and appreciate the precedent set for public sector participation in issuing onchain USD. The offshore C-corps shouldn’t get to have all the fun.
