EthCC Recap. The main criticism of EthCC, the annual global Ethereum community conference, was that it was too fragmented, with way too many side events and not enough attention paid to the main event. I think the bigger (biggest? perhaps even existential?) issue is that the application layer conversations were…scant.

There are some compelling stories, like Polymarket, Bombo, Chipped, Opera MiniPay, dDocs, Disco, POAP Moments and ofc Farcaster. But I can’t shake the feeling leaving the conference that we’re building 10 lane highways for only 10 cars to drive on. Growth and marketing tracks could be a start, this also seems like a great idea. Please, change my mind!

Bitcorn. The data (i.e.Katy Perry’s new music video) suggests we may be careening towards a sharp recession. Some (one?) economist has said that this may be good for Bitcoin, so…yay? Idk, I’d rather not be wearing a Balaji Was Right t-shirt in an underground bunker. Speaking of, Bitcoin Magazine’s conference later this month has announced Donald Trump, Russell Brand and Robert F Kennedy as headliners. Nightmare blunt rotation etc. etc., but I will be there covering the shenanigans on the ground.

Quick Hits. Sure, the Kamala fandom stuff all might be a group psychosis, but the brat remix crossover nearly brought me to my knees. Lead contamination in tampons may be my villain origin story. Is the downvote button coming to Twitter?
