Happy Birthday Bitcoin. It’s the 15th anniversary of the release of the Bitcoin white paper, which came out on October 31, 2008. Imagine if we paid attention then, instead of doing whatever it is we were doing in 2008. Some would say the birth of Balaji-con and the network state movement are the 2023 versions of that pivotal moment in history. Others would not, with critics saying that it reflects one man’s vision too much to ever really take hold. It’s easy to be snarky when pics like this come out, but I do vibe in theory with the idea of anti-establishment parallel institutions (Boys Club as a parallel for…something!). E/acc criticisms aside for a moment, this 5min talk from “Beff Jezos” on AI decentralization, and why crypto should care, is a really solid watch. Also this ‘unbundled bank’ image kind of slaps.

Solana Pump. I was told it would be a chad move to write about Solana pumping 20% this week. Never one to miss an opportunity to fly my chad flag, here we are. Sources say the pump is not due to the much-hyped conference alone, but includes a number of new projects that have launched on Solana recently including liquid staking, lending and some consumer applications.

LastPass Hack. If you ever stored any critical crypto passwords or seed phrases in LastPass, change them immediatamente. $4.4M was drained from the wallets of 25 LastPass users who stored wallet keys in the app. Friends don’t let friends store seed phrases in password managers!
