perps and peptides (live)

special edition livestream on Friday

Hi,

We’re doing a special peptides edition of the livestream this Friday at noon ET.

We’ll be on with Zak David, the founder of Peptide.Partners. He’s a former pharmacy technician who went into high-frequency trading and is now selling Chinese peptides, so it should be a really interesting ride.

Bring all the questions you’ve ever had about peptides but were too afraid to ask. We’ll be taking Qs from the comments.

Warmest Regards,

The Boys

Risk Off. Crypto has been dumping this week, just in time for us to look like idiots at Thanksgiving in front of our families. One reason for the downturn is generally bad vibes in the U.S. economy overall, causing investors to want to get out of risk assets.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent used the R-word (recession) in an interview on CNN on Sunday in reference to the housing market. So, not great. The drop in prices also caused a cascade of liquidations across the market, causing further downward pressure.

Balancer Gets Drained. Balancer, a DeFi exchange and vault, was exploited on November 3rd, with attackers siphoning somewhere around $125 million across Ethereum and other chains. It was a “technically intricate” hack on a battle-tested protocol that was overlooked by many audits. This is rough for DeFi.

Balancer is very much considered a “blue chip” protocol, so its exploit has us rattled. Check on your pools.
