  • Oh shit. This week news broke that The Block, a (formerly reputable?) crypto-focused media company, has been secretly funded by Alameda Research (cough SBF) for over a year. The former CEO took secret loans from SBF to “save” the company — and also to buy himself a $16 million pied-à-terre in the Bahamas. This is Majorly Problematic™ as it appears as if SBF was buying influence through the media company. Can someone see if SBF invested in the NYTimes as well? How many more layers to the onion? Is this the call to action for Boys Club to grow up and become a real media company? Idk!

  • iLedger. Big month for Ledger. This week, pre-orders went live for the new Ledger hardware wallet with help of iPod creator Tony Fadell. The new wallet is credit card-sized with embedded magnets so that multiple wallets can easily be “staxed” and the display shows transaction details/NFTs. If you have been intimidated by hardware wallets in the past, this wallet is going to be a big W for you — from what we can tell it’s incredibly user friendly which is great for us trying to lean into crypto self-sovereignty. In stax we trust. 

  • Say hi to AI. OpenAI has been trending v hot this week. After 1 week of going live, it crossed over 1 million users. Of those 1 million users, 999,999 have been convinced they’ll be out of a job within the next year. So… we asked openAI to write the newsletter this week. TLDR, we cannot be replaced:
