Venmo Unshackles Crypto. Scaling onchain transactions to 60M users? Go off. Starting in May, Venmo users will be able to send their (currently hostaged) crypto “off platform” to external wallets, a feature previously only available outside the US. The supported currencies - bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash and litecoin (lol) - will also be available for user to user transfers on Venmo. While we’re talking adoption, Visa announced a partnership with Circle to make USDC transactions compatible with certain credit cards. Who said crypto was dead?

FUD Protection Squad. Coinbase activated beast mode in their response to the SEC’s Wells Notice this week. The exchange highlighted the consistent inconsistencies in the SEC’s position on crypto being a security. Coinbase is ready to fight on behalf of all of us, and their response was crystal clear - they’ll go scorched earth if this lawsuit progresses. Coinbase released a commemorative NFT as a symbol of unity for the crypto community, and all minting fees will go towards crypto advocacy. Count us in on this smoothie squad.🛡️
